Republic Hospital Tbilisi - Georgia
Republic Hospital Tbilisi - Georgia
Bdpgroupe6 is designing a new hospital building in Tbilisi Georgia.
The new building is to be built on the campus of the existing National Republic Hospital, which is the principle teaching hospital of the country; which it will substantially replace. The existing building will in turn become, the Tbilisi University, Medical school as part of an overall strategy for improving medical services in the country.
Bdpgroupe6 with Arup, prepared a master plan and feasibility study, for the project between July and December 2007, and are now commencing full design of the new building. As well as general acute hospital facilities there is an adjoining building which will be Georgia’s centre for infectious diseases, with laboratories and isolation facilities, able to cater for national emergencies. The design of the building is intended to be highly sustainable using appropriate technologies, but also designed and built to the best of Western European standards, with the latest medical technology.
