Orléans Teaching Hospital, Orléans
The new hospital will combine the facilities of the town centre Porte Madeleine hospital at the site of the edge-of-town La Source hospital.
This has been brought about by advances in medical practice, and also the changing nature of the town and region. Orléans La Source is a new quarter formed at the edge of the La Sologne Nature Park.
In contrast with the existing hospital, it will ‘open out’ towards the neighbouring town and integrate with it in scale, merging with the urban and natural environment.
